The story behind SOS.

Where the idea began

One man was left alone for hours.
Deb knew there had to be another way.

After learning that an elderly assault victim had been unable to summon help, founder and inventor Debbie saw a gap in existing personal-safety options.

Her idea was simple but different: make the companion animal already nearby part of a discreet pathway to assistance. That idea became SOS — Serenity On Standby.

Born from heartbreak.
Built with purpose.

Debbie came up with Lifeline Collars after learning that an elderly man had been brutally assaulted, left for dead and remained alone for hours without being able to summon help.

She could not forget what had happened to him. It made her ask what could give an older or vulnerable person another way to raise the alarm when a phone, pendant or conventional emergency device could not be reached or safely used.

Deb’s answer was to look to the loyal companion often already close by. She conceived a discreet emergency-response button carried on a companion animal’s collar—designed to connect its owner with an agreed response pathway without producing a sound that could alert an intruder.

SOS is being developed to help older Australians and vulnerable people feel safer while continuing to live with independence, confidence and dignity. It is an additional way to seek help, not a replacement for emergency services or established safety procedures.

OUR MISSIONTo develop practical technology that helps vulnerable people feel safer, preserve their independence and access assistance when it matters most.

Because independence
should still feel safe.

“What if the companion already beside you could also become part of your safety network?”
